Have you ever paid attention to small kids when they are playing? If you find time, please do..its a different world altogether... All their focus is to be happy and make their friends happy...even if they start a fight, it won't last for long and soon they will continue to play...they won't even bother to remember that they had a fight a few minutes back... Oh man! That is an amazing life and don't everyone of us miss such a childhood & the memories attached?
On a full moon day, while I was walking on my terrace, I was just thinking why people are so stressed, feeling depressed & always chasing something for life? We were not like this..then what could have been the possible reason?
While having deeper & an undisturbed thought i could find an edge of the thread, that we get to know more than what we actually need to know. We don't get satisfied with a piece of information we have. We want to research. We try to get more information, which most of the time, is unwanted & unnecessary for us to know. Sometimes we receive news involuntarily. And these information, instead of improving our knowledge, become a reason for us get stressed more for some or other reason. Too much of anything is not at all good.
In the process of growing up we forget our ultimate aim which is to be happy...
The following few paragraphs are my auto analysis & just a try to find some solution..
We are always in a hurry.. Always on the run to chase something and trying to prove ourselves. Chill..take a deep breathe.. Smile at that cute little baby in car next to yours in the bumper to bumper traffic... You may not fully get relaxed & start flying..you will lose nothing, either.. But that little girl would return the smile, for sure!
While putting our hardest effort to achieve that target set by somebody, we miss to relish the stunning colours of beautiful flowers in the well maintained garden!
While rushing to be punctual for the Board Meeting, we fail to celebrate the refreshing first drop of rain.
While trying to impress the Project Managers, we miss to show our gratitude to the cab driver who safely reached us to the destination.
While we work hard to possess that much loved luxury car, we often forget to recognise that trivial assistance offered by the support staff.
The petty things as these may seem to be, do have power to transform a positive energy & happiness to us.
To keep ourselves mentally & emotionally healthy and fit :
Let's share happiness when feel happy
Let's lend a shoulder for someone to lean on
Let's not hesitate to ask for help when we it badly,
Let's learn to show gratitude to the magnanimous nature, to a small kid who showed you route when you get stuck in a new place,
Let's know the value of relationships.
Let's show respect to fellow human beings, irrespective of the status they hold in the society
Let's learn to be humble to a housekeeper as we are to the CEO,
Let's not regret for past, but understand that whatever happens, happens for a reason, which is good.
Let's have an unconditional faith in Him, so that we won't get lost in the long journey called life.
Finally, let's learn to count our blessings, for not everyone in the world have roof above, dresses in the wardrobe, four square meal a day and water to quench thirst, which is not contaminated.
In this #mentalhealthawarenessweek we may have to change our perception towards life, owing to the lessons taught by the pandemic that an unseen and invisible virus caused.
We all have seen & realised the uncertainty of life and also accepted that health is the most important thing of all. We need to understand that #mentalhealth is as important as physical health.
Thank you for reading. Stay happy. Stay safe.
